Getting started

Sign in with GitHub, connect your organization, and invite the people who deploy.

Sign in and connect#

  1. Sign in with GitHub. Anyone with a GitHub account can.
  2. On Organizations, choose Connect organization. It installs the Kodmos GitHub App on an organization you own on GitHub, and you pick which repositories it may see. You become its owner in Kodmos.
  3. Your organization starts with 14 days of Business, without a card.

Invite people#

The owner invites people from the organization by email, as a member or DevOps, and can name their GitHub account so only that account can accept. Each link works once and for 7 days.

People in the organization on GitHub who sign in see it and can ask for access; the owner lets them in or declines. Access is always given by the owner, never automatically, and people who leave the organization on GitHub lose it in Kodmos too.

No organization yet#

Kodmos also installs on a personal GitHub account. Only that account can connect it, and the people who collaborate on its repositories are the ones who can be invited or ask for access.

When the team grows, create an organization on GitHub, transfer the repositories to it, and install Kodmos there. Then Settings → Move to an organization moves everything over: flows, teams, people, events and history. Only the address changes.

Timezones#

Release days, deploy times and branch deadlines are planned in the organization’s timezone: its owner’s at first, changed in Organization settings. Emails show every time in the reader’s own timezone, set on their account page.
