Email, Slack and your inbox

Who hears about what, where: by email, in Slack, and on the Needs you page.

One message, every channel#

Kodmos tells the people involved in an event when it is planned, moves, locks and deploys, and reminds whoever still owes a branch. Each notification goes by email, in Slack where your organization connected it, and to your inbox. Nobody hears about what they did themselves.

Under Email & notifications, switch each kind (planning, reminders, deploys) on or off for email and for Slack.

Slack#

On Team and Business, DevOps connect your Slack workspace under Organization settings, and each team picks its channel in its settings. The channel hears when an event is planned, locked or cancelled, and follows each deploy in one message from start to finish.

  • Reminders come as direct messages listing your waiting projects: use the suggested branch, pick one (checked on GitHub), or mark it as not deploying, right there.
  • Messages about a locked event have a Deploy button for DevOps; it asks first.
  • Kodmos finds you in Slack by the email address on your Kodmos account, so they must match.

Needs you#

The inbox in the header counts what needs you now: projects you owe a branch for, events ready to deploy (DevOps), failed deployments of your team’s repositories (DevOps: any), and access requests (the owner). Below them is what you were told lately, whichever channel told you.
